Those who are familiar with boating know that while you may have a date in mind to start your travels, weather, including sea conditions play a key role in planning your trip. We will be in Florida soon and hope to shove off on May 1st. In preparing we will “provision” the boat, meaning stock her up with food, water, and any items we may need to keep the boat and ourselves running smoothly during our trip. We are members of Boat Tow US which assures if any problems with running GYPSEA occur we have our “AAA” on the water. In the words of Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman, “I’m a safety girl!” In addition to assuring basic needs will be met, it is really important to Carl and I that we keep active while on the boat for long stretches of time. We plan to approach this total trip as a series of day trips, so will shove of early in the morning and hope to be at the next port with time to walk off our sea legs, do some sightseeing and enjoy local culture. Daily exercise is important, and many of you reading this know I am a physical therapist, so I will continue to use our boat as my floating gym and share workouts along the way!
